Bloghopping

My daily ration of current events used to come only from online newspapers, radio and television newscasts. Being far from where the action is, I had to content myself with simply “knowing” how things are shaping up (or crashing down) in my beloved Philippines. Expressing reactions may not have been difficult- I can talk to myself, can’t I? But the few times I did, I worried. What if I suddenly find myself answering myself?

Ngayon, I can afford to skip these online newspapers, even the broadcasts.

I usually begin my cyberday with a visit to Ellenville. I am always sure that I’d get the latest, the hottest and the most controversial news items of the day. May bonus pa. I can read through realtime reactions of other politically inclined Pinoys all over the globe. Yung bonus, may bonus pa rin- I can chip my own reactions in, both to the news and to the others’ reactions.

Sa Ellenville, one gets to “meet” different people. Doon, pakiramdam ko, lahat kami ay magkakaklase. Some of them are really interesting, some of them are (ano nga ba’ng antonym ng Interesting? Ah, ‘yun nga!), well, boring. Most of them are Filipinos, some of them were. Most of them say Aling Gloria has to go, while some of them think Aling Gloria needs to go (pareho lang ba ‘yun?). Some of them intentionally inject humor to lighten discussions up (sina Pareng Cocoy, Ka Magno, TT, at ang nagbabalik-loob na si Artsee) when the going gets tough. Some of them are simply funny with those matter-of-fact reactions to hints of sarcasm (never really “getting the drift” that the sarcasm is directed at them). All of them are bound by a common cause- concern for the Philippines.

Next stopover on my itinerary is Quezonville. Here, I consider myself a student. All the other bloggers are my professors. Mabigat ang balitaktakan, but one really learns a ton just following the discourses. Some of the characters are also occasional Ellenville habitues like Anna (who is an SME when it comes to military stuff), Dean Jorge Bocobo, John Marzan, Schumey, and CVJ to name a few. Ellenville “graduate” Benign0 occasionally drops by Quezonville, too.

Now, with these two anchors, and all the other anchors they link through, who would need the early morning papers, online or otherwise?

Hello Ka Enchong!

Glad to see your blog lit up again...

That's a very nice round up on comments and commenters in the 2 top socio/politico blogs in Philippine cyberspace.

Appreciated reading it.

The Military has announced that they have the suspect in their custody, a former rebel, a notorious leader of Abudol-Bedol Akyat Bahay Gang. He is only known as Tiagong Akyat until they can confirm his true identity.

On a brief investigation report,Tiagong Akyat was an intern in mental institution, patient number 104 in psycho ward no.4 bed C. He was been interrogated why he done it and ransacked Major Aquino’s house inside the military camp. He said that he forgot the cell-phone charger, he went back to get it because the cell-phone was lowbat and he could not send a message to his text mate.

He was asked, how could he have managed to pass the tight security in the military camp. He answered that he is a fanatic of Victor Corpus, He copied and studied the move of Corpus when he was a Lt. that time he ransacked the Armory of the Philippine Military Academy. He was asked how could he copied the move of Corpus if he don’t know the General. He answered, Sgt.Doble coached him.

He was asked about the missing armalite of Jason Aquino, He said that he took the armalite, also. He was interrogated again, why he took the armalite. He said that he is planning to assassinate the president and put the blame on Trillanes.—-So far, that’s all the information right now, until a full investigation of the case and bring it to you live.

Thank you cocoy and bloggers et al for the kind words especially urgings to pray and have a more meaningful faith. There was a time hundreds of moons ago when I have to sign my letters to young friends faithfully yours. I thought then it meant faith has nothing to do with God, but more with love ones and friends.

Ellenville is just awesome, I just can’t FAITHFULLY follow without getting tired and feeling my age. So much to read and cogitate, so fertile and fecund like the wombs of our lolas for bringing out to our troubled world not kicking babies but exploding anger and wisdom; understanding and hope; frustrations and fighting words.

I know it is inevitable when I will have to pray for my salvation and not be a freeloader, content with the knowledge that enough sincere people around me include me in their prayers. In all those thousand suns I pray to ask for others, for me I try to pray only to say thanks. In Ellenvile I will try to keep faith with my country.

Cocoy’s new piece is like: fiction being more believable than truth, truth later being only an enactment of fiction. Any way his piece suggest the Philippines becoming the gulag in Asia (Sorry Myanmar for the displacement). Cocoy must have read Zolshenetzin.

There’s not much money in mental hospitals unless the lands are sold for development. So journalists and bloggers beware, such hospital may be under construction now in Mayagay, or Cuyambay Tanay. Mike is getting tired of libel cases, while the military is feeling international heat on murders. So everybody, away all of you go to a mental facility.

About circumcision: I didn’t know it then that Jesus Christ was circumcised and that there was religious rationale. At twelve I knew it was the thing to do to avoid being a coward sissy among your peers. From a circumcised 13-year old, I learned it’s clean and hygienic down there, no smelly kupals; to be tuli is to be a man at twelve.

Then I was assigned a million ebb tides ago to Panay Island and I learned the word Pisot and learned to be careful with my words, to respect Pisot friends and colleagues who explained it to me. Having watched Behind the Green Door, I could forget Marylyn Chambers black toro’s name but not his dick: undersized and uncircumcised. Anyway, supot or not porno’s leading men like John Holmes (12 inches?) and John Leslie are now gone victim of aids. For all you know foreskin is the first condom.

The point? I have been reading numerous times that Esperon is SUPOT. He should be man enough speak out and shout to the world: I am supot and I am not ashamed of it. If he is not SUPOT, then he can cursed the purveyor of lies. If he is silent, and nobody really knows except those who had sex with him, it’s like Mayuga’s report he will carry to his grave. Something totally taboo, even to his children and grandchildren.

How can Esperon stop this circumcision issue. Let the Head of the Veterans Memorial Hospital and a lady doctor examine his dong and come out in press release or press conference as to the status of his penis. No pictures, no word about size or reddish or wilty appearance, or erection malfunction. Just say whether he is SUPOT or TULI. No questions entertained. That will be the fastest (for Guineas Book of Records) Press Conference on record.

If he can’t do it, then the entire AFP soldiery should hold a passing review (in their own camps) as a salute to the men who called him SUPOT.

for tagalogs, especially like me who grew up in the liblib na baryo where our music was the sound of kuliglig, the word SUPOT is another term for DUWAG. we usually use the word referrring to someone who cannot face his opponents fair and square.

Magno,

You are right. Trespassing is a criminal offense in any progressive society. In the Philippines, may be even burglary, as long as done by one in position, I guess is no longer considered as such. Kaya nga mas maraming magnanakaw ngayon, including the big-time robber and thief overstaying at the palace by the murky river.

Mrivera Says:

i guess now-a-days, every camp in the country is under tight security and no outsider civilians can freely roam around without being accosted by the patrolling military police. anyone who has to transact business in any office has to register first with the gate guards and their entry must have clearance from the concerned office where he/she intends to go.

Another legend (or myth?) why during the Biblical times men of Jewish faith (Hebrew) had to be circumcised was mostly for hygiene. This was related to me by my Jewish friend who may have heard it from his elders. As the story went, that during their worshiped usually the ceremony involved bowing their heads with their hands between their legs as low as they could get to the ground, and that would make contact to their genitals since they had not invented the “underwear” as yet. And as soon as boys turn 13 or time for their Bar Mitzvah it is also the time for circumcision and now becomes a religious symbol, the same as the Cross became the symbol of Christianity, when in fact before and during the time of Christ it was used to hang the Convict for Prosecution, or for public display, the same as we present our accused to the Media, before they are even convicted of any crime. Things actually haven’t changed at all….

Kawawa naman si Mrs. Burgos who still hopes that her son is still alive! Pero mukhang niyari na ng mga walanghiya! Whatever, I pray that Mrs. Burgos will be able to know where her son is, dead or alive!

I know that’s why I have hinted it: “At twelve I knew it was the thing to do to avoid being a coward sissy among your peers.”

Circumcision is a physical state of the penis, cowardice is a mental state that also implicate absence of testicles (walang bayag). Directness (diretso) could also be being literal, an indication of courage or anger.

Another way, not a literal way of looking at it is: nakita ko may pinupukpuk na pako.

Vic thanks for the elucidation, the biblical jottings and word of mouth passed on to us about circumcision. The place of Jesus was rocky and sandy, may be they also experienced extreme discomfort or pain when sand particles get inside the foreskin which can also be transferred to the inner recesses of the partner’s orifice during lubricated deep penetration. The wives got so hurt everytime (though many others had unheard of orgasms) they pestered their rabbi because the sand particles made them sick. So the rabbis had to decree circumcision (my own theory). That’s it Vic. I have just added a biblical legend which can be read only in ellenvile.
